General Website Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions (“Agreement”) set forth the general terms and conditions of your use of the alpinecomp.nz website (“Website” or “Service”) and any of its related products and services (collectively, “Services”). This Agreement is legally binding between you (“User”, “you” or “your”) and Total Sport 360 LTD (“Total Sport 360 LTD”, “we”, “us” or “our”). If you are entering into this Agreement on behalf of a business or other legal entity, you represent that you have the authority to bind such entity to this Agreement, in which case the terms “User”, “you” or “your” shall refer to such entity. If you do not have such authority, or if you do not agree with the terms of this Agreement, you must not accept this Agreement and may not access and use the Website and Services. By accessing and using the Website and Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. You acknowledge that this Agreement is a contract between you and Total Sport 360 LTD, even though it is electronic and is not physically signed by you, and it governs your use of the Website and Services.

2025 Schools Alpine Competition Event Terms and Conditions

Where applicable, we abide by Cardrona Ski Fields Terms and Conditions as the host for this event.

Event

Entry into and participation in any Schools Alpine Competition (SAC) Event held between 22nd September 2025 and 26th September 2025 (Event) is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions by entrants, their parent or guardian and schools (if applicable).

Parent or Guardian Approval

Entry into this event is deemed you having your parent or guardian’s approval to do so and that your parent or guardian have read and consented to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, you should not enter this Event.

When Can I Enter the Event?

Entry opens on 5th May 2025 and ends on 29th August 2025.

How Do I Enter?

To enter the Event, you must register through www.alpinecomp.nz/register and following the prompts to enter your details and chose the events you wish to enter – fees will vary based on time of registration and number of events chosen.

Can I Enter Multiple Times?

Only one entry per person into each event is permitted.

Withdrawing From the Event

If you wish to withdraw from this Event, you must inform the event organiser via email on chris@alpinecomp.nz. Withdrawals after the relevant entry closing date listed above will not be entitled to a refund. Withdrawals prior to the closing date will be entitled to a refund of any entry fee paid at that time, less a 20% administration/cancellation fee.

Parent or Guardian Consent

In consideration for allowing my child to participate in the Event, I acknowledge that (both on my own behalf and on behalf of the child participating in the Event) that my child will participate in the Event on these Terms and Conditions and I represent, warrant, acknowledge and accept:

  • Authority: I am the parent and/or legal guardian of my child and I have the authority to bind myself and my child to these Terms and Conditions.
  • Age: my child will be between the ages of 6 and 16 years (as at the date of the Event).
  • Supervision: I will provide safety precautions and appropriate and adequate supervision of my child while they participate in the Event.
  • Rules: I will ensure my child obeys and accepts the Event rules and any other instructions issued by the Event Organiser and Race Organisation Committee (ROC) or its contractors and agents in relation to the Event at any time and my child must satisfy any eligibility criteria determined by such officials in relation to the Event.
  • Risks: I freely and voluntarily assume all risks associated with my child participating in the Event and acknowledge that my child’s participation is entirely at their and my own, risk and that I may withdraw my child from the Event at any time.
  • Acknowledgement: I acknowledge that the Event involves participating in a sporting activity involving physical exertion and is undertaken for the purpose of recreation, enjoyment or leisure. I understand there are inherent risks, hazards and dangers associated with the Event and my child may suffer serious injury, or even death, as well as property loss or damage as a result of participation in the Event including as a result of (among other things) over exertion, equipment failure, dehydration, accidents with other participants, spectators, course or weather conditions and other causes;
  • Fitness: my child is physically and medically fit to participate in the Event and I am not aware of any condition, impairment, disease, illness or other reason why my child should not participate in the Event and I understand my child should not participate in the Event unless they have prepared appropriately.
  • Laws: in participating in the Event I agree that my child and I will act responsibly and adhere to all New Zealand laws and restrictions (where applicable).
    Injuries: the Event Organiser, ROC or Snow Sports NZ shall not be held liable for any injuries or losses suffered by my child in participating in the Event.
  • Medical Treatment: and consent to my child receiving and to pay for any medical treatment at the Event (including, without limitation, ambulance transportation and paramedic treatment) which is considered by the Event Organiser or ROC and its medical treatment provider to be advisable or deemed reasonable or necessary before, during or after the Event. I indemnify and will keep indemnified the Event Organiser and/or ROC for all costs associated with any such medical treatment.
  • Safety Precautions: that any safety precautions taken by the Event Organiser or ROC (including, without limitation, course supervision, safety briefings and any other precautions undertaken) are a service to my child and other participants but not a guarantee of safety and that while the Event Organiser and ROC take reasonable steps to supervise participants, I am ultimately responsible for the supervision of my child.
  • Teams: if my child registers to compete in the Event as part of a team, I remain responsible for payment of the applicable fees for my child and the Event Organiser or ROC are not responsible if the other team members are unable to participate for any reason (including non-payment or eligibility) and my child may no longer be able to compete in the team’s competition of this Event. However, I acknowledge and accept that in this situation my child would be an entry in the individual category for the Events entered.
  • Reputation: I will ensure my child and myself do not do anything which may adversely affect, prejudice or bring into disrepute the reputation of the Event Organiser or the Event.
  • Registration: that my child’s registration is not transferable to any other entrant and if my child’s entry form and payment is not received by the Event Organiser (Total Sport 360 Ltd) prior to the closing dates given, my child may not be able to participate and/or late fees may also apply.
  • Cancellations: while the Event Organiser and ROC will use all reasonable efforts to ensure the Event is conducted as advertised, I acknowledge that by reason of circumstances beyond the control of the Event Organiser, it may become necessary or desirable to change the programme and/or venue of the event and if that occurs, I consent to the changes and I agree that each and every one of the conditions set out herein shall apply to that changed event and/or event location;
  • Refunds: my child’s participation in the Event is at the sole discretion of the Event Organiser and I accept that the Event Organiser may cancel or postpone the Event. If the event is cancelled for any reason, I understand and accept the entry fee will not be refunded. We will not be held responsible or liable for any costs participants incur in relation to this event or travelling to this event.
  • Indemnity: To the fullest extent permitted by law, I indemnify and will keep indemnified the Event Organiser and each of their directors, officers, employees, volunteers, the ROC, independent contractors and agents against all costs, losses or damages however caused, arising from or in relation to my child’s participation in the Event.
  • Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Event Organiser excludes all liability to me and my child in connection to the Event and any liability for a breach of any non-excludable guarantee is limited to a refund of any Event fees paid to the Event Organiser in connection with my child’s entry into the Event.
  • Information: as part of the registration process I will need to provide my email, address and telephone number as well as details regarding my child’s ability to participate.
  • Documentation: I will enter into a further agreement as evidence of consent to my child, being a minor, participating in the Event; and
  • Risk Warning: I acknowledge this is a risk warning as applicable under applicable laws including common law and the New Zealand Consumer Law.

Event Alteration or Cancellation

If any Event is altered (including but not limited to, a change in location or change in format) or cancelled, notification will be given as soon as reasonably practicable, and prior to 7.00am on the day of the Event where possible. Notification will be given over WhatsApp.

Social Media Terms

If you have any questions or comments about the Event, please direct them to the Event Organiser (contact details below), not any relevant social media platform. The Event is in no way sponsored by, endorsed or administered by any social media platform including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or TikTok and entrants release all relevant social media platforms from any and all liability and agree to comply with any of their applicable terms of use.

Entries

The Event Organiser reserves the right to disallow entries at its absolute discretion; verify the validity of entries and determine the eligibility of entrants (including an entrant’s identity) and to disqualify any entry or refuse to award a prize or allow participation in any Event where dishonest or misleading details have been given, or an entrant has behaved in a dishonest or unsportsmanlike manner, or otherwise not in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or the spirit of the Event.

Terms Medals

School teams must consist of 3 to 5 team members with the fastest 3 team members contributing to the teams’ total time. Team categories will include boys, girls and mixed. Mixed teams must consist of at least 2 girls. Teams medals will only be awarded when there are three or more students participating in an event.

Event Organisers Rights

The Event Organiser reserves the right to:

  • check entrants are registered with Snow Sports New Zealand.
  • disallow entries in its absolute discretion.
  • verify the validity of entries and determine the eligibility of entrants (including an entrant’s identity) and to disqualify any entry or refuse to allow Event participation or award a prize or allow participation in any Event where dishonest or misleading details have been given by an entrant, or where an entrant has behaved in an unsportsmanlike, fraudulent or dishonest manner, or otherwise than in accordance with these Terms and Conditions or the spirit of the Event;
  • to terminate or amend any aspect of any Event without notice at any time in its sole discretion in the event that the Event or any aspect of the Event cannot be reasonably conducted as planned; and
  • enforce any of its rights at any stage and failure to do so does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

Liability

The Event Organiser or ROC shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is or may be suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss and in relation to any warranty or guarantee) or for personal injury which is or may be suffered or sustained, in connection with participation in the Event, merchandise or accepting any prize, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law. This includes but is not limited to any tax liability or tax implications. In relation to any liability that cannot be excluded, the Event Organiser and its related, agents and contractors’ liability will be limited to a refund of any registration fees paid to the Event Organiser in connection with entry into any relevant Event.

New Zealand Consumer Law

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions exclude, limit or modify the application of the New Zealand Consumer Law or any other applicable laws, or the exercise of any rights or remedies conferred by the New Zealand Consumer Law or other applicable laws where to do so would contravene the New Zealand Consumer Law or other applicable laws.

Privacy

The information collected about entrants and their guardians in the course of the Event has been requested to enable the Event Organiser and ROC to conduct the Event in accordance with these Terms and Conditions (including publicity) and for the Event Organiser to send you additional informational or marketing material. The Event Organiser may disclose personal information to third parties who assist the Event Organiser to carry out the Event and the Event Organiser will act in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Personal Information

I acknowledge that my personal information and my child’s personal information is collected and used by SAC and Snow Sport New Zealand for the purposes of registering my child for, conducting and improving the Event including facilitating and expediting medical assistance to the participants to protect their health and safety in the event of an incident.  While overseas parties are subject to privacy obligations, I accept that such obligations may differ from and be less stringent than the requirements of the privacy laws of New Zealand.  If the personal information is not provided, then my child may not participate in the Event. I understand that my child’s first name, city of residence and school may appear on the Snow Sports New Zealand website once they are registered and I consent to both SAC and Snow Sports New Zealand using the contact details below:

  • my child’s personal details including first name, and image and photograph before, during or after the Event, for promotional, marketing, broadcasting, reporting or surveying purposes in any media worldwide, including but not limited to, for the purpose of promoting SAC’s current and future events; and
  • allowing Sports Images that may include my child’s photograph on their website.

Snow Sports New Zealand

I acknowledge that my personal information and my Child’s personal information is collected and used by Snow Sports New Zealand Ltd for the sole purposes of processing the registration of my Child for the Event (including fees payable by me in relation to such registration). Snow Sports New Zealand Ltd may disclose my personal information and my Child’s personal information to a School Group coordinator representing your Child’s school to facilitate the registration process of the students of the registered approved School Group. I acknowledge that Snow Sports New Zealand Ltd may disclose my personal information and my Child’s personal information to third parties who assist them to carry out the above purposes including to SAC and School Group coordinators. If the personal information is not provided, then my Child may not participate in the Event.

Although our website and services may link to other resources (such as websites, mobile applications, etc) and providers, we are not, directly or indirectly, implying any approval, association sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation with any linked resource, unless specifically stated herein. We are not responsible for examining or evaluating and we do not warrant the offerings of any businesses or individuals or the content of their resources. We do not assume any responsibility or liability for the actions, products, services and content of any other third parties. You should carefully review the legal statements and other conditions of use of any resource which you access through a link on the website. You accept that your linking to any other off-site resources is at your own risk.

Event Organiser

The Event Organiser is TOTAL SPORT 360 LIMITED trading as the Schools Alpine Competition (SAC), PO Box 42277, Orakei, Auckland, New Zealand 1745 (Event Organiser). The Event Organiser can be contacted on 021 444 776. All decisions of the Event Organiser are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
